Simplicissimus is an Italian website (don't worry, the instructions are in English) that will convert docs on the fly into PDF, ePub, or Kindle formats. Simply upload a file from your computer, select the Kindle option, and hit "Convert!" You can then save your new Kindle-friendly file to your PC to copy over to your Kindle whenever you're ready. If you're growing a large library of ebooks and you want a long-term solution, I still recommend Calibre, which can also convert files to Kindle format but has the added benefit of letting you organize your books in an iTunes-type interface.
